Yamaha Motors was planning for a new motorcycle for a while and now it was spotted during a TVC shoot in the mountains near Atal Tunnel. The new bike is named Yamaha FZ-X, a total of three bikes with different Orange, Black, and Blue colours were spotted. The rumors were started a long back when the company had registered a new product name “FZ-X.
Design and Dimensions:
The new Yamaha FZ-X is based on the earlier models FZ-Fi and FZS-Fi which were launched the last year 2020 but the design is not related to them. This bike has a new retro charm design with a round headlight unit, teardrop style fuel tank, flat split seat for better ride posture, boomerang shape radiator protection guard. Also, the handlebars are slightly upright during better comfort on highway cruising. swinging grills alloy wheels with dual disc plates (282mm for the front and 220mm for the rear) with ABS as standard.
One of the leaked documents has stated the dimensions of the new FZ-X. In that, the length is written 2,020mm, the width is 785mm and the height is 1,115mm. The motorbike has a wheelbase of 1,330mm that is similar to its sibling FZ15.
Engine and Powertrain:
The Yamaha FZ-X will be powered by a 149cc, air-cooled engine that will have the capability to produce a maximum power output of 12.4 PS at 7250 RPM and 13.3 Nm of peak torque at 5500 RPM. Same as the FZ-Fi and FZS-Fi, this will also be paired with the 5-speed constant mesh transmission.
The price for this new 149cc motorcycle would be around Rs 1.10 lakhs (Ex-showroom). However, the launch date is still hidden and no official announcement/information has been posted by the company itself.
