Thar new model picture spied out, expected launch date?

Thar new model is about to launch in India.

Mahindra & Mahindra is planning to launch the Thar new model in the Indian market. This will be a complete makeover update but the design language is still the same. The identical boxy design looks awesome and offers a lot of customizations.

We spied an image of Thar new model covered in camouflage that is testing on road. Its nearly a year is complete of testing the Thar in the Indian roads. Now it is very near to the launch. The launch will take place something around August or September this year (2020).

In the spied picture, we clearly saw the hardtop. Now, this is confirmed that the new Thar will come with hardtop options from the company itself.

Codenamed W501, the next generation Mahindra Thar will get a new front grille along with circular headlamps with an LED option from the company itself. In fact, the design and inserts are pretty similar and identical to the predecessor but it got some minor cosmetic updated like – new black-painted 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps with DRLs (Day time running lights), a new hardtop option from the company itself and a touchscreen infotainment music system with inbuilt features like – android auto, apple car play, and navigation.

It also gets all the basic safety and others feature – ABS, EBD, a multi informational display on the instrument cluster, manual AC and heater, Keyless entry, power-folding window glasses, two airbags, and a rear parking camera.

Thar’s new model is equipped with the same 2.2 ltr four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 6-Speed manual transmission. That produces around 140 bhp. In 2020 update of Thar, you’ll also get a 2.0 ltr fuel-injected four-cylinder turbo charged petrol motor. Which produces a power delivery of 163 bhp mated to the same 6-Speed manual transmission with 4×4 shifter. The automatic torque converter has to be added on a later stage.
