Tata Tiago Turbo Spotted Testing
The Turbo Petrol version of small hatch Tata Tiago is spotted testing on roads covered in Camouflage. This is the first-ever time, previously the Tata Altroz Turbo has spotted painted in blue colour and has a “Turbo” badge on the rear end. Tata is working on the “Turbo Petrol” engine for a while because of the increasing demand of petrol engines. Some days ago, a Tata Harrier was also spotted on roads covered in camouflage. There are certain chances of having a petrol engine on that but it could be Gravitas. Have to wait to know about it.
Except the engine, we wouldn’t get any major changes in the design and mechanicals or in the chassis. As the test mule is also based on the current face of Tiago that are on sale. However, some minor cosmetic and electrical elements can be add to stand it out from the normal one.
Tata has discontinued their JTP cars powered by a turbo engine “Tiago and Tigor”. This was happened because of fewer sales numbers and BS6 norms. Nowadays, a turbo petrol engine is a much need in Tata’s lineup. As we have products like- Tiago, Tigor, Altroz, and Nexon. All the petrol cars of Tata are powered by the same 1.2-liter 3-Cylinder petrol engine that feels just sufficient on the Altroz and decent for the rest Tiago and Tigor.
The Petrol engine which we would get in the Tiago Turbo can produce around 90-100 PS of power mated to a 5-Speed manual gearbox. There will be no automatic gearbox option available to choose from. If the Tata Tiago will get turbo petrol then it would be the best performance in its segment or under 8 lakh rupees. The Tiago Turbo will compete with the only rival Hyundai I10 Nios Turbo.
Tata Tiago Turbo
- Will get a 5-Speed manual transmission, No Automatic
- Power figures would be around 90-100 PS
- Based on the existing Tata Tiago design
