

Tata motor has launched the Tata Nexon 2020 facelifted model in the Indian market. This facelift comes with some major and some minor changes. The major change we are getting is on the front. The front is completely changed. Whether its the headlamps or the bumper. These changes look good and satisfy the update. Apart from this, some more changes are also there, some are on the side profile and some are on the rear and interior. A new turbo petrol engine is also introduced with the same powertrain. What do we get in the Exterior?


The exterior is the main talking point of Tata Nexon 2020 facelift. It gets multiple new elements on the outside. The main changes are in the front. Here a new headlamp setup and the bumper are added up to make it more sporty and premium. The headlamps are sharp and sleek. The LED DRLs also works as an indicator and the headlamp is equipped with a low beam projector headlamp. A white LED light will be more preferable but the halogens are also do work well. The new 16 inches machine cut alloy wheels are now look more elegant and sporty.


On the rear end, the changes are more subtle rather than choosy. The tail lamps are redesigned but the shape and size are the same. Just same as the Harrier, It also gets the same way of badging across the tailgate. Other than this, only minor changes are done.
What do we get in the Interior?


The interior of Nexon is always a great place to be in. It has a great combination of comfort and features. Now, after the addition of some more features and elements. It looks and feels more appealing and premium. The dashboard layout is neatly finished in trio colour combination along with a floating touchscreen infotainment system that carries- android auto, apple car play, mirror link, reverse parking camera display, and navigation.
In spite, being a compact SUV, it offers great space and comfort for five occupants. The rear seat is enough wide for three healthy adults and for 4 small kids, also the rear legroom and under-thigh support is quite impressive. On the rear seats, rear AC vents and 12V power outlet is placed for a better experience for the journey.


Apart from this, it also equipped with- automatic climate control, push start-stop button, automatic headlamps & wipers, multi-informational display, fully digital instrumental cluster, cruise control, an awaited one-touch open sunroof and some common other.
The Tata Nexon 2020 has connected car features that can offer some features and equipped with security programs too. The features you can use through connected cars app IRA are- Can switch on/off the headlamps, can control AC, can lock and unlock the car, and allows you to diagnose the car faults on your own. The security features you can use through connected cars app IRA are- You can track your car, immobilize your car, and set a manual area radius in which you want your car to be and if your car will go outside of that radius then you’ll get a notification on your smartphone.
Safety and Security:


Tata never compromises on safety and security. The build quality of the Tata car is rugged and it feels too while driving. The Nexon is the first car from India that has scored 5 stars in a global NCAP crash test. The Tata Nexon 2020 is built on Tata’s Impact 2.0 platform that is very much capable to handle any kind of collision and even flip over. However, the Nexon only comes with two front airbags even on its top trims but offers great safety. Apart from this, it has some advanced safety features like- ABS, EBD, BA, ESP, center locking, child safety locks, seat belt warning, door ajar warning, traction control, engine immobilizer, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.
Engine and Transmission:


The Tata Nexon 2020 is offered with two engine options, one is 1.2-liter turbo petrol and the second is the 1.5-liter diesel. Previously it was offered with a 1.2-liter petrol engine that was producing 108 bhp. As of now, the petrol turbo produces 118.3 bhp @5500 RPM and 170 Nm of peak torque @1750-4000 RPM. On the other side, the diesel one produces 108.5 bhp @ 4000 RPM and 260 Nm of peak torque @1500-2750 RPM. The 6-speed manual transmission is offered as standard while the automatic is available as an option


Both the motors have a great punch on offer. The torque band of the Petrol motor is 1750-4000 RPM, where is the diesel is 1500-2750 RPM. The torque band of the petrol motor is more than the diesel but torque punch is more in diesel (i.e 260 Nm). The petrol motor is meant for performance. The 118 bhp engine starts pulling from 1750 RPM and slightly lifts the nose of Nexon and pushes you to the seats. The shifts are sleek and the clutch is smooth. Overall, the performance of Tata Nexon 2020 is good and you feel great whenever you are behind the wheels.
Here are the mileage figures of Tata Nexon:
- Petrol:- 11-13 kmpl in City and 15-17 kmpl in Highway.
- Diesel:- 15-17 kmpl in City and 18-20 kmpl in Highway.


Verdict
The Tata Nexon is a great product without any doubt and it offers all the modern features and technology. After the facelift, it looks more elegant and sporty. The headlamps are the main add on and it does look awesome and throws great illumination on the road. Now, it also got a sunroof in the top trim which is awaited for a long time. The interior is a great place to be in and offers great comfort and features. It is the first car that scored a 5-star crash test rating in Global NCAP. So you will be safe inside it. Overall, The Nexon is a great product for the peoples who want a spacious yet powerful car.
