Suzuki motors are testing the Jimny 5 door for a long while and not the 5 door, also the different models of Jimny are under evaluation/testing. The new 5-door Jimny will be based on the Jimny Sierra that was showcased in Autoshow 2020 and on the newly launched Suzuki Jimny 4Sport Limited Edition. Only some changes will be there in terms of graphics. The Suzuki Jimny 5 door will give direct competition to the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha, in foreign countries and in India also.

Major details of the exterior:
The Suzuki Jimny 5 Door will be a longer wheelbase by 300mm than the standard 3 door and also the length is stretched to 300mm longer than the 3 door version. The overall weight is also increased by 100 kgs, which helps the SUV to stay balanced on sharp turns. By adding 300mm to the length, the second rows of forward-facing seats are fitted for 2/3 extra passengers.
One of the leaked documents reveals that the dimensions of the 5 Door Jimny will be 3,850mm in length, 1,645mm in width, and 1,730mm in height. While the overall wheelbase is 2,550mm and the ground clearance is 210mm with the vehicle kerb weight of 1,190 kgs.

What would be the powerhouse:
The Jimny 5 Door will be powered by the same 1.5-liter, K15B Petrol series engine that is currently available in the almost entire lineup of Maruti’s India like- Ciaz, XL6, Brezza, S-Cross, and Ertiga. This petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 103 BHP and 138 Nm of torque. While the transmission will be a 5-Speed manual one. On the other hand, the Jimny will also be equipped with Maruti’s Smart Hybrid fuel-saving tech.
