The new mid-size upcoming SUV from the automaker Skoda will go on sale in the Indian market in June 2021 and also the prices of Skoda Kushaq will also be revealed simultaneously. Moreover, the cars will be reaching the localized dealer in the month of July 2021. Mr. Zac Hollis (Brand Director, Sales, Service, and Marketing, Skoda Auto India) has confirmed on Twitter.

In the tweet, Zac Hollis has also confirmed that the specification and the prices for the Skoda Kushaq will be revealed in June and the booking will also commence once the SUV starts hitting the showrooms. Moreover in the tweets, he also said that the premium hatch Skoda Fabia will not launch in the Indian market but some new sedans launch will end up till the last of this year.

Skoda Kushaq Details:

The Kushaq will be launched under the Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 strategy. It will also the mark debut of the localized MQB AO IN platform. The car measures 4,221mm in length, 1,760mm in width and 1,612 mm in height, while the wheelbase is 2,651mm that is the longest in the category at present.

The power will be given to the car by two engine options- a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine (113 BHP and 175Nm) and a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine (147 BHP and 250 Nm), while the transmission options are 6-Speed manual, 6-Speed torque converter AT (only with 1.0-liter) and a 7-Speed DSG automatic with 1.5-liter only.

The mid-size SUV will compete with rivals like- Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Nissan Kicks. In price aspects, it’ll also compete with Mahindra XUV 500 and Tata Harrier.
