Renault has launched the more powerful version of Kwid named Renault Kwid RXL. It has equipped with a 1.0-liter engine rather than 0.8-liter petrol. Apart from this, no other updates are offered. The remains will be the same. The more powerful Kwid is priced at Rs 4.16 lakhs ex-showroom for the manual and Rs 4.48 lakhs ex-showroom for the AMT variant.
The design of Renault Kwid RXL is quite a sport and funky. The DRLs over the headlamps look great and are visible in even sunlight The headlamps are placed in the bumper that gives a great illumination on the road at night and in foggy weather. Apart from this, it gets blacked-out wheel caps, some colored decals, and graphics. Other than that, the design is subtle and sporty.
The interior is decent and you get a bigger welcoming 8 inches touchscreen infotainment system with android auto and apple car play. The instrument cluster is completely digital and does offer a great view through the steering wheel. The major drawback we found in the interior is the AMT shifter dial. The dial is very complicated to shift and not able to do quick shifts through this, also there are changes of wear and tear.
The Renault Kwid RXL is offered with two engine options. One is 1.0-liter and the second is 0.8-liter. The 1.0-liter 3-cylinder petrol produces around 67 BHP and 97 Nm of torque. The 0.8-liter 3-cylinder petrol produces around 53 BHP and 72 Nm of torque. There are two gearboxes on offer to choose from- 5-speed manual and 5-speed automatic. The power is transmitted to front-wheel via an axle.
Other than that, there are some more features that are on offer- dual front airbag, ABS and EBD, rear parking sensors as standard and the top specs get a reverse parking camera with adaptive guidelines and sound to assist.
