What are some changes in the Exterior of the 2022 Hyundai Venue

Hyundai Venue Dimensions

This facelift version of Venue has got prominent changes on the exterior. With the launch of Venue, Hyundai has introduced a new design line called ‘parametric’ with an even bigger front grille. The same we can see in the global products of Hyundai, such as the Hyundai Palisade.

As to the regular previous model, this front grille has a dark chrome finish with some golden-bronze shade and a rectangle shape pattern. While the lower section of the bumper has now wiped out the fog lamps across the range and to compensate for this, it now features new LED headlamps in the projector and reflector as well.

The horizontal black element in the front and rear bumper is extended to accentuate the car width and the lower diffuser is a bit extended and has a new design with a faux silver finish.

The turn indicator is shifted just above the headlight set up rather than to DRLs, like the older one.

The sides have nothing major changes except the newly designed 16-inch machine-cut alloy wheels with wider 215/60R16 section rubbers (only for the top turbo-petrol trim). The refreshed alloy wheels do give it a new appeal and it will surely become a talking point for the ‘young first-time buyers.

Hyundai Venue 2022 Rear

The predecessor of the Venue somehow has a hatchback kind of look and it was genuinely wanting an update. So as usual, Hyundai hasn’t disappointed us and designed the Venue rear amazingly. Now it’s more muscular and has sharp lines, LED tail lights joined with a red bar running across the trunk, and high mounted stop light.

What new we are getting in the Interior of the 2022 Hyundai Venue

Hyundai Venue 2022 Interior

One of the evident changes inside the Hyundai Venue 2022 is the dual-tone cabin theme. The predecessor has an all-black theme with grey inserts and details. The new black and greige theme makes the cabin feel more airy and roomy.

Other updates include a new steering wheel, powered driver seat with 4-way adjustments (back-n-froth, and recliner), auto healthy air purifier, 2-step reclinable rear seat with armrest, ambient lighting, and digital cluster with color TFT multi-information display. The sunroof is carried forward in the same size and fittings.

The Venue now gets the Hyundai Creta D-cut steering wheel and digital cluster with the color TFT MID. This MID features a digital speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trips, fuel gauge, vehicle information display, fuel tank empty range, mileage figures, and so on.

How are some changes in the seats of the 2022 Hyundai Venue

The seats are now cozier but the ventilation function is still missing in the front row. It should be offered because the competition is offering it. The Hyundai Venue has an auto air healthy purifier that purifies the air by just pushing a button, it also displays the AQI (Air Quality Index) in the display embedded in the armrest.

The front seats have ample cushioning with side boulders support and an adjustable headrest. While the rear has a 2-step reclinable seat with rear AC vents for faster cooling. The rear seat has two adjustable headrests while the center sitting occupant has to struggle for the neck support.

Is there any upgrade in the 2022 Venue Engine Options?

Hyundai Venue 2022 Engine

All three engines are carried forward from the pre-facelift version. There is nothing changed about the mechanicals but some transmission engines are not offered with a particular model. There are three engines starting with 1.2L, 4-Cylinder naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5L, 4-Cylinder Turbocharged Diesel, and the last one 1.0L, 3-Cylinder, Turbocharged GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) Petrol Engine.

The entry-level Kappa 1.2L, 4-Cylinder naturally aspirated motor produces 83bhp of maximum power and 113.8 Nm of peak torque. This motor is available with only a 5-Speed manual transmission. Whereas, the 1.5L, U2 CRDi, 4-Cylinder motor has 98.56 bhp of power figures and 240 Nm of torque. This diesel engine comes mated to a 6-Speed manual transmission only.

The most fun to drive and the joyful engine is the 1.0L, Kappa Turbo GDi petrol motor, a turbocharged motor. The automatic transmission is only available with this turbocharged motor and does raise the adrenaline level in the body. This liter motor churns out 118.41 bhp of maximum power and 172 Nm of top-line torque. The automatic unit available with this is a 7-Speed DCT (Dual Clutch Transmission), and it does offer smooth shifting with a little turbo lag in the row range RPMs. The DCT gearbox is now packed with three drive modes, Eco, Sport, and Normal. The Eco mode is the thrifty one, sport is for getting goosebumps and normal is regular with no changes.

No doubt, the new Hyundai Venue is a great upgrade from its predecessor in every term. Now it has a new refreshed design language and a new interior theme. There are some features that are also added such as – a powered driver seat, ambient lighting, auto healthy air purifier, D-cut steering wheel derived from Creta, a fully digital instrument cluster, etc.

The engines are refined and the gearbox offers buttery smooth shifts. The DCT automatic transmission does have a bit of turbo lag at the low end but grabs the pace quickly above 2,000rpm. It is not the sleek shifting dual-clutch gearbox but does its job fluently indeed. The Venue competes with Maruti Breeza, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV300 mainly. In the competition, it feels best in interior quality, engine refinement, gearbox, and technology.
