Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch their new and the most expensive product in their lineup, the Grand Vitara. It will be a new car for the brand in collaboration with Toyota Kirloskar Motors and compete in the compact SUV segment. The Maruti Suzuki Vitara will be a rebadged version of the Toyota Hyryder, unveiled earlier by Toyota. Finally, it will debut today, and the booking amount will be Rs 11,000, and the sale will start in August this year.

1. Platform and Powertrain

The engine line in the Vitara will be shared by the Toyota Hyryder, with a 1.5L, K15C, Dual-Jet, Dual VVT petrol with a mild hybrid setup and a Toyota sourced 1.5L, 3-Cylinder petrol, strong hybrid motor. The transmission options will be a 5-speed manual one a CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission).

The power figures from the K15C motor is 101 bhp of max power and 136 Nm of peak torque. With the launch of Maruti Suzuki Vitara and Toyota Hyryder, an AWD version called an all-wheel-drive unit. However, this will only be available in the manual transmission trims and the All-Grip system does offer four driver modes – Auto, Snow, Sand, and Lock.

On the other side, the Toyota’s engine churns out 91 bhp of max power and 120 Nm of peak torque. The strong hybrid combination with the motor adds 79 bhp of power and 141 Nm of torque and combined the engine produces 170 bhp of power and 262 Nm of peak torque.
