Two 1.5L petrol engines power the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara with mild and strong hybrid options. One engine is derived from the Maruti Breeza, and the second one is sourced from Toyota, the same offered in the Toyota Hyryder. The power figures of the Maruti’s 1.5L, K15C, Naturally Aspirated Petrol engine are 103.6 PS at 6,000rpm and 136.8 Nm of peak torque at 4,400rpm; this engine comes mated to a 5-Speed manual and 6-Speed automatic transmission.
The manual transmission trims also come equipped with Suzuki’s Allgrip AWD system with four drive modes – Snow, Sand, Auto, and Lock. The auto mode in this AWD is quite interesting, as it automatically changes the amount of torque delivery in the wheels by sensing the vehicle condition.
On the other side, the Toyota sourced 1.5L, 3-Cylinder is mated to a Synchronous AC motor and e-CVT gearbox. The Atkinson cycle engine produces 91.45 PS at 5,500rpm, 122 Nm of peak torque at 4,400-4,800rpm, and the Synchronous AC motor alone produces 59kW (79 bhp) at 3,995rpm and 141 Nm of torque. Despite the gasoline and electronic engine combination, the car only uses the maximum output of 115.5 PS.
The mileage figures from all the combinations are mentioned below:
|Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Mileage||in kmpl.|
|Manual Transmission||21.11 kmpl|
|Automatic Transmission||20.58 kmpl|
|Manual Transmission with All-Grip||19.38 kmpl|
