Maruti Suzuki India Pvt Ltd is all set to launch its new compact SUV Grand Vitara in the Indian market. The bookings were already commenced in July month, from 11th (to be precise) with a token amount of Rs 11,000.
Maruti has received thousands of bookings for this new capable SUV and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara launch date is expected to start somewhere near the Navaratri festival season. The prices are also under wraps and will unwrap alongside the delivery date. However, it’s expected that the prices for the manual trims would be Rs 9.99-15.99 lakhs and Rs 12.99-15.50 lakh for the automatic transmission.
Trims
The Grand Vitara will be offered in four trims as- Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha in the mild hybrid powertrain and in Zeta+ and Alpha+ in the strong hybrid trim. Moreover, the SUV will be available in a total of nine colour options, of which three are dual tone and six are monotone.


Engine
The SUV is produced in collaboration with Toyota Kirloskar Motor and is equipped with two engine options. One is of Maruti and another is of Toyota, both the engines are 1.5L, naturally aspirated units and come paired with mild hybrid and strong hybrid powertrain options. The Toyota Ubran Cruiser Hyryder also share the underpinnigs.
The engine power figures for the mild hybrid are 103 PS @ 6000 RPM and 136.8 Nm of peak torque for the 1.5L, K15 naturally aspirated engine mated to a manual/automatic transmission. While the Toyota’s 1.5L naturally aspirated strong hybrid engine generates a combined of 115 PS @5500 RPM and 141 Nm of peak torque with in combination of a E-CVT Gearbox.
The gearbox options are 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic and an AWD version named “All Grip” is added to the manual transmission trim as a mild hybrid option.
Mileage
Mileage figures are 21.11 kmpl for the manual transmission, 20.58 kmpl for the automatic transmission, 19.38 kmpl with All-Grip manual transmission, and 27.97 kmpl for the strong hybrid with e-cvt transmission.
