The engine used in the previous Baleno RS can be seen in the Baleno Cross version.


Maruti Suzuki working towards a new performance car for the Indian market. The new model is named Maruti YTB in the international market. The product debut can be seen in January 2023 globally, simultaneously the Indian showcasing is likely to take place in 2023’s Auto Expo, planned to be held in New Delhi.
The Maruti Balen Cross model will likely return in the place of the discontinued Baleno RS, which was discontinued due to BS6 emission norms because the turbo-petrol motor is eligible for conversion.
In 2023, the same 1.0L, turbocharged engine is coming back in a BS6-compliant engine with a mild hybrid technology. There are changes in launching this motor with a combination of a 5-Speed manual transmission and a 6-Speed torque converter automatic transmission.
Similar to the other performance car, Maruti would also bring the Baleno Cross with a 1.5L naturally aspirated motor with a 5-Speed MT and a CVT. The naturally aspirated unit can be derived from the Breeza, XL6, and Ertiga.
If we talk about the platform and features then, the Baleno Cross will be built on the Maruti Futuro-e concept platform, showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo, It is expected, that the production car will closely look like the concept but some changes are also expected.
The recently launched Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the perfect example to explain the Baleno Cross design perspective. The front has LED DRLs, a big blacked-out grille with chrome surrounding, silver painted skid plates, 16-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights, chrome door handles, window chrome garnish, roof rails, and a sunroof (panoramic is not expected).
Features list includes- auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, push start/stop button, cruise control, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display with android auto and apple car play, ventilated seats, request sensor, keyless go, and more.
