The Maruti Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid is the first car in its segment alongside its sister Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
The hybrid car market is growing in India after the launch of the Honda City Hybrid. Thousands of people switched to the City Hybrid and experience the change in technology. Maruti is not way behind and comes on the podium with its upcoming Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid. This car is made in collaboration with Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd and carries a Toyota engine and hybrid DNA.
Maruti Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid Pre-Booking?
The Grand Vitara got a total of 53,000 bookings for both versions, on which the strong hybrid gets 22,000 pre-bookings. The booking amount is Rs 11,000 and was open on July 11, 2022. Whereas, the deliveries would begin near the Navratri season.
Engine and Transmission?
The strong hybrid 1.5L, 4-cylinder engine, and technology are sourced from Toyota, which generates a combined power of 115 bhp and 132 Nm of peak torque mated to an e-CVT (Electronic Continuous Variable Transmission).
The mild hybrid battery charges from the wheel rotation/brake regeneration and powers the car in the initial run and when the car is cruising at a certain speed. The ignition ON/OFF of the engine is negligible and pulls the car without hesitating.
The battery in the strong hybrid trims is quite big than the mild hybrid that does carry some space in the interior and cargo area. As a result, the cargo area in the strong hybrid is less than 100 liters in comparison to the mild hybrid. Read Also: Why Buyers are Not attracted to the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara All-Grip?

The safety rating for the platform cars is rated 4 stars. Whereas the underpinnings are mostly shared with the Maruti Suzuki’s cars. In the era of ADAS features, they still lack in that terms, but it won’t much.
The further safety features include- 6- airbags, ABS, EBD, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitor system, 360-degree camera, parking sensor, engine immobilizer, theft protection, and others.
