If we talk about the engines offered, then the Tata Tiago is offered with two motors, one is 1.2-liter, Revotron, 3-Cylinder petrol motor and the second is 1.1-liter, Revotorq, 3-Cylinder diesel motor. The motor produces a power output of 84.48 BHP of power at 6000 RPM and 113 Nm of peak torque with the petrol motor and 69 BHP of power at 4000 RPM and 140 Nm of peak torque for the diesel motor. Both the engines are available with a 5-Speed manual transmission, while the 4-Speed automatic Torque Converter is only limited to the Petrol variant.
The Maruti Celerio has only a petrol engine that also offered with a CNG fuel system from OEM. The 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder, petrol motor produces 67.04 BHP of maximum power at 6000 RPM and 90 Nm of peak torque at 3500 RPM, whereas with CNG, the engine power output becomes 58.33 BHP and 78 nm Torque, which is reduced by almost 10 BHP and 12 Nm. The single petrol motor comes with a manual 5-Speed transmission and a 4-Speed AGS (Auto Gear Shift Transmission).
There is no diesel option and no CNG options are available in the Maruti Celerio and Tata Tiago, So we should have to remove them from the list. The petrol motor of Tiago is more powerful than the Celerio but it doesn’t feel while driving, it could be because of the higher weight of Tiago by almost 100-110 kgs. The motor in the Celerio feels punchy and quickly takes the pace to 80 mph whereas that Tiago has to struggle a bit but when it comes to high speed and stability, then the Tiago is far better and performs stable and under-controlled ride.
