Kia Sonet launch
Kia Motors are planning to launch its compact SUV Kia Sonet in the Indian market for a long time. Now the launch is confirmed by Mr. Manohar Bhatt- Head marketing and sales India. Kia Motors are planning to go on the track in the COVID-19 situation. They are also adding dealers to make the supplies across India and everyone plans to unveil to the car by August-October this year.
The Kia Sonet would be a game-changer for the segment when it launches, Same as the Seltos did. The Seltos grabbed great attention from the peoples and ate soo many buyers of Creta. The same we may see with Hyundai Venue.
The Cross over SUV segment is currently on Boom in India and Kia is also wants to introduce its own contenders to grab some attention and sales numbers. The Kia Sonet is rumored to be priced at a starting price of Rs 8.00 lakhs and the top-spec variant would go near to 12 lakhs. If the price will go more than that, then the buyers will end up on Venue. As it also has great offerings and will costs cheaper than Sonet.
What do we get on the exterior?
As per the concept, that was shown on AutoExpo 2020. The design is pretty good and it gets the familiar Kia grille on the front along with sleek and chiseled LED headlamps. The bumper with chrome accents and muscular linings gives a rugged front look. On the side, the alloy wheels look great and fill the wheel arches. Apart from that, it gets blacked out ORVMs and roof rails.
The Rear end is quite subtle and clear rather than funky. The red slat on the trunk joins the LED tail lamps and on the lower end, the reflectors are placed. Overall the design is muscular and does look rugged.
What do we get in the interior?
On the interior you would get all the goodies such as- a large touchscreen infotainment system with android auto, apple car play, mirror link and navigation, sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise controls, wireless phone charging and steering mounted controls.
Apart from this, the seats would be great in terms of back and under things support and don’t gives you any kind of fatigue in those long runs. The rear seats would be great for two adults and three can also manage for short city rides. On the rear seat, you would get a center armrest with two cup holders for better hospitality and manageability.
Engine and Transmission
The Kia Sonet gets the engine from Hyundai Creta and Venue. It would get three engine options on offer- 1.0-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-liter petrol Kappa and 1.4-liter U2-CRDi. The 1.0-liter turbo petrol produces around 118 BHP, 1.2-litre produces around 82 BHP and the 1.4-liter diesel produces around 99 BHP. Where the torque figures are 172 Nm, 114 Nm, and 215 Nm. In the Sonet both manual and automatic transmissions are on offers, which are also the same, that we are getting in Hyundai cars.
