Hyundai has unveiled its seventh generation Elantra 2021 with a completely out of the box design and with new features like its sibling Sonata has. This car may hit the Indian market by mid of 2021.
The new Hyundai Elantra 2021 appears to a razor-sharp design with some bold lines upon it. Which gives it a sportier glimpse than ever. The slopping roof through the C-Pillar sleekly blends with the lip spoiler and gives it a neat fastback look. This Elantra contains some additions from its elder sibling Sonata. for e.g. The bold design language, Bold sleek lines, and the dual-screen in the dashboard are also one that its sibling has.
This car is based on the new platform, which helps it to reduce the overall weight and increased the wheelbase by an inch and also added 2 more inches on its length and one on its width. Hyundai removed all the stubby parts and make a new elegant design.
However, the overall height is dropped down, Inspite of this. You’ll get the same headroom and even more legroom and cabin width. Thanks to the new platform.

In terms of styling, Its got sharp bladed edges and bold lines on the hood along with the new humongous Hyundai signature cascade styling grille with a dark glossy pattern, it lies onto the bumper, where a glossy element is added in curve-shaped. It joints the bumper from all the way left to the right and gives it a sporty look. Also, you can find the aircon vents on both the sides of bumper to provide it a good grip on the road and cuts the air easily to get the pace.
It got a sloping roof character. The roof sleekly merges to the lip spoiler and gives a coupe look to the vehicle. The sleek and sharp lines intersect each other on the front door and give a look of arrow design. It got a new pair of machine-cut alloy wheels. The tyre size is likely to be 205/50 R17 89V but there no are official announcements about the tyres from Hyundai.
There are several elements to notice on the back. LED tail lamps are the main noticeable component. The design of tail lamps do sleek and jointed with a tiny LED strip and the completes tail lamp assembly resembles a stretched H logo. You can notice the striking sleek lines over here also and the all-new sleek element rear bumper which makes it sportier.
A new cockpit design is made by Hyundai for the Elantra 2021. The main key change is the dual 10.5 inch LCD screen for the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. The screens are completely digital and offer a ton of features like a different digital speedometer in different modes, average fuel consumption, digital fuel meter, and tachometer. On the other side, the infotainment system carries apple car play, android auto, mirror link, and navigation. The new AC aircon vent goes all the way left to right having three silver slay lines. which gives a feel of high-end luxury cars.
Engine and Transmission
This comes with a 2.0 liter naturally aspirated motor in petrol and hybrid fuel options. The first-ever Hyundai introduced the Smart hybrid motor in the Elantra.
Three engine options are
- 1.6-litre GDI with Electric motor
- 2.0-litre MPI Atkinson Cycle Engine
The 1.6-liter GDI with Electron motor combined with the electric motor produces around 139 bhp and 264 Nm. However, Separately the electric motor produces around 32Kw of power by lithium-ion-Li-polymer battery positioned under the rear seats.
The 2.0-liter MPI Atkinson Cycle naturally aspirated engine produces around 147 bhp and 180 Nm of torque. The power of both engines is transmitted to the front wheels via an intelligent variable transmission(IVT).
Overall the new Compact sedan of Hyundai is leading the future generation as the Sonata. This Elantra has advanced design, features, and safety equipment. However, The price is not yet disclosed by Hyundai, but it might cost you somewhere around 18-23 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices may vary in the future.
