Ford rolled out its all-new Endeavour 2020 model. This model of Endeavour will be ready for sale from March 2020. This version comes with some minimalistic changes from the outside and the inside. The main change you will find in the new 2020 Endeavour is the new 2.0 liter BS6 compliant turbocharged diesel engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The new 10-speed automatic transmission is paired with 4×2 as well as 4×4 variants.
However this engine is less massive and powerful than the previous 3.2 Liter 5 cylinder, But Ford claims that this engine is more silent and linear in terms of performance and cabin NVH levels and it also provides 12 to 14 percent more fuel efficiency. This results in the fuel efficiency of one-liter diesel being 12.4 kmpl. This is quite decent for an SUV of this size and weight. Ford Endeavour knew for its massive look and luxurious plush interior feel. The interior quality is very good in terms of equipment and leather quality. This new Ford Endeavour comes with a price tag of 29.55-33.55 lakhs (ex-showroom) with a hike of 70k from its predecessor price.
Interior: – The first positive point of Ford Endeavour 2020 is the interior quality and its plush feel of leather and equipment put together with a premium leather quality. Which creates a wall between its competitors? It’s a high ground clearance SUV (225 mm) which results in you may face some problems while entering the car but as soon as you enter the car, you feel the plush interior of the Endeavour, the steering is just awesome with a lot of buttons, like volume ups and down, call answer and hang-up, MID (multi-information display) control, Cruise control, and some others.
When you look at the Speedometer you found an analog speedometer surrounded with two MIDs (multi-information displays). On the right side, you found a digital fuel gauge with multiple features like the terrain selector display, vehicle arrival, and departure angle along with the horizontal angle, its bits of help while off-roading and on the left side you got a digital tachometer which shows the RPM’s reading digitally and all other car features like the ambient lighting control, Ford my key feature, date and time setting and other casual car features which the Ford Endeavour offers.
When you look to the dashboard you found the all-new SYNC 3.0 Infotainment system with features like Apple car play, Android Auto, Mirror link, and Bluetooth connectivity connected with a 10 speaker sound system which sounds quite impressive. You got many other features like dual-zone automatic climate control, a touch panoramic sunroof, push start-stop button, electric adjustable driver and passenger seat, one-touch up and down driver side power window. How can we forget the last row of Endeavour because it’s a full-size SUV. The space in the last row of seats is just decent enough to sit an adult for only short trips. The under-thigh support is not enough for an adult but it’s quite decent for kids on even long trips because it gets a 12V power socket and third row AC vents. This makes the third row comfortable for the kids.
Exterior: – The Ford Endeavour knew for its style statement. The muscular and macho SUV look can melt anyone’s SUV lover heart. The new facelift comes with minor changes on the outside but the changes are quite noticeable. When you start exploring it from the front, firstly you notice the changed front bumper grill, now it comes with a three-slat chrome grill endorsed with the Ford logo in the center. The headlamps are now smoked out in black color fitted with a projector set up. The front and rear diffusers are not finished in silver color which gives it a clean and sober look.
When you notice it from the side you got the all-new alloy wheels design finished in black and silver. The tyre size is 265/60/R18 along with the chunky wheel arches, which helps you in tackling any kind of off-road condition. The outside rearview mirrors now come with outside chrome covering along with a puddle lamp which helps in the night. The side fender badge is changed, now Endeavor is written over there. The door handles are finished in chrome and on the driver and passenger side door, you got a passive keyless entry, which gives you a hassle-free entry. On the back profile you can’t find a major change this is as same as the predecessor.
Performance: – We’ll start with the new 2.0 liter turbocharged BS6 compliant diesel engine. Which produces 177bhp and 420Nm of torque from as low as 1750 rpm. The new engine is more comfort centric rather than the power centric as the previous 3.2 liters 5 cylinders one. The kind of performance it offers is best in its segment.
The new motor gives you a very well contained turbo lag while switching the gears. The engine works just awesome with new 10-speed automatic transmission. You can use the select shift feature to use the gearbox as per your need i.e. If you are going off-road and you want to use only 5 gears, then you can lock the gears and it behaves like five-speed ones. This new 2.0 ltr diesel engine is now taking place over the 3.2 ltr predecessor one. This 4-cylinder engine gives you a mileage of 12.4 kmpl. This is also the best in its segment.
Safety and After Sales Service: – The ford Endeavour 2020 comes with all safety features like ABS, EBD, ESP, Hill hold assist, Brake Assist, Seat belt reminder, Rear parking camera with front and rear parking sensors, and first in segment 9 airbags in its top titanium trim. This always offers you a safe driving experience. The Endeavour scored a 5-star rating in global NCAP rating and proved its build quality. In terms of the service department, its service network isn’t large like the Maruti and Hyundai one but Ford provides its service in all tier 2 & 3 cities and metro cities. Ford promises to provide low-cost service to their customer by offering some policies and offers and it really works in a real case scenario.
Verdict: – The new Ford Endeavour 2020 comes with such minor updates but significant. The new engine option is far better than its predecessor 3.2. The style statement is now more engaging with the new update. The driving experience is now far greater because of the new engine option. This is the best luxury car in its segment or in the price bracket of 40 lakh in India. The Ford Endeavour is the best alternative to its main rival Toyota Fortuner. There is nothing major in this car to dislike.
