Toyota has just launched its new contender in the hottest compact SUV segment in India with a lot of hopes. The C-SUV Toyota Urban Cruiser is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza with some cosmetic changes in the outside.

The Urban Cruiser is priced between Rs 8.40-11.30 lakh (Ex-showroom) and has four variants, one engine and two transmission options to choose from.

Changes in the Exterior?

Its a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and only has some changed in the design. First and foremost, the front grille is inspired by the Fortuner and gives a glimpse of it also, the bumper is redesigned and has a silver skid plate on the lower side and remains are the same. The side has only one small change, that is the alloy wheel center caps and the rear has just an “Urban Cruiser” badging on a chrome plate.

Changes in the Interior?

The interior is as it is and has only one change which is the Toyota badge on the steering wheel. Except for this, all the tech and goodies are there that presents on the Maruti Brezza.

Engine Specifications?

The Toyota Urban Cruiser is powered by the 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol motor that produces 105 bhp of power and 138 Nm of peak torque mated to either a 5-Speed manual and 4-Speed Automatic gearbox. The automatic version also has the fuel-saving mild-hybrid tech, the same as the Brezza Car has.

The compact SUV segment is the hottest segment in the country right now and all the companies had already launched their best. The Urban Cruiser has to compete with rivals like- Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Ford Ecosport. This would be tough for Urban Cruiser to keep in the race but let’s see what would happen?
