Then we suggest the base LXS is the most value for the money trim in the entire range. Features here include – an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, apple car play, android auto, smart key w/ push button start, smart trunk, LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, auto emergency braking w/ pedestrian detection, blind spot detection, lane keeping, and the following assist, safe exit assist. What is the launch date of the Kia K5?
The Chinese manufacturer Kia has strengthened its legs in the Indian market and is now a top 5 performer in the country. As of now, Kia is offering 3 cars in the market – Kia Sonet, Kia Seltos, and Kia Carnival. The addition of a new premium SUV will be great for both parties, and it could be a win-win situation.
Keeping all the assumptions and information in the mind, we are disheartened by saying that there are no changes to Kia K5 to debut in India anyhow. There is one more reason, that peoples with a budget of 25 lakh are more interested in the SUVs, hence the sales numbers are limited.
So instead of K5, if Kia would bring a new big SUV like Kia Telluride into the Indian market, then the chances are higher and the market has potential.

Exterior and Styling

What a futuristic and elegant design is? the Kia K5 defines it perfectly without saying a single word. The design and the exterior styling of the sedan are out of the box. The main focusing area of the car is its headlights, these lights are designed in such a way, no one can deny their beauty. The projectors are installed in the lights and the LED DRLs are styled zig-zag, the DRLs to work as a turn indicator and hazard lamp.
Kia’s signature tiger nose grille is placed at the center, while the lower part of the bumper has some matte black inserts and fog lamps on each side. The hood of the Kia K5 is sloping towards the front and has sharp cuts and edges that help in aerodynamics.
The side has humongous 19-inched gloss black alloy wheels in a five-spoke design with 245/40 R19 section Pirelli rubbers. The sharp cuts and edges can be seen in the entire car and similar to the hood, the roof line is sloping and the design resembles a fastback and Grand Tourismo (GT).
The chrome work is done on the exterior very well and it doesn’t look overdone, the placement of chrome on the window line, rear diffuser, exhaust tip, and alloy wheels are perfectly laid out. However, in some variants, we can also get a blacked-out exterior with all chrome parts finished in black colour.
The rear of the Kia K5 is neck to neck to the front, the LED tail lamps are connected with a LED strip light that glows and the top of the boot has a lip spoiler for better aerodynamics. Other than these, the bumper has black accents, reflectors, a sliver finished diffuser, and quad exhaust pipes.
Interior and Comfort

The excellent engineering we can also get to see in the interior as well, the layout of the dashboard is neatly designed with large chunky ac vents and a three-spoke steering wheel (D-cut for the GT trims). The center part of the dashboard is slightly angled towards the driver’s side, so there will be no need of taking the eyeballs off the road.
The center console is wide, thanks to the wider width of 1859mm. Just below the AC vents, the climate control display and switch are placed for some nicknack options. On the center console area, two cup holders are offered with a premium silver finish, the gearbox lever is inspired by the aircraft and the armrest is enough wide and adjustable to and forth.
A new kind of gear selector knob we got to see in the upcoming Kia Seltos Facelift, could come in the K5 as well.
The soft leather is used in the top part of the dashboard, door lining, and door armrest area, while the lower part is the regular hard plastic. Just below the ac vents and infotainment display, a wooden insert is fitted that makes the cabin experience more premium and upmarket.
The Kia K5 is packed with well-cushioned fabric and leatherette seats with heated and ventilation options (limited to front seats). The driver seats have an 8-way electronic adjustment and the rear seats have a center armrest with two cup holders. The depth and holding of the seats are quite good, while the side bolsters and the under-thigh support is adequate too, which helps hold on to the position while the sharp corners.
Having a big panoramic sunroof and a small glass b/w the C and D pillar makes the car airy and more breathable. Seating quantity is preferable to be 4 adults and 1 child, however for short journeys, 5 adults can also adjust but have to struggle for the shoulder roof. In AWD trims center person will never be comfortable, due to the center tunnel.
