The New Scorpio N will be offered with both Diesel and Petrol engines. Though AWD is of the Diesel only.

After a long wait, the Mahindra Scorpio N has finally launched with a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh for the base petrol and Rs 19.40 lakh, ex-showroom for the MT diesel top end. The New 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N is going to launch in a total of five variants and two engine options with 4WD, only for the diesel motor.

With this launch, only manual variant prices are revealed, whereas the automatic and 4WD variants will be revealed later on 21st July and the booking will start from 5th July 2022 officially.

Also, the prices that are revealed with the launch are only for the first 25,000 bookings and can increase afterward. So if you’re a fan of Mahindra Scorpio, then do hurry and book on sharp 30 July.

What happens with the Current Mahindra Scorpio?

The new Scorpio is named ‘Scorpio N’, So alongside the current Scorpio will be available on sale with the title ‘Mahindra Scorpio Classic’. This is the same that we saw with the Honda City new generation.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio N Exterior

This new Scorpio-N is a completely new revamp-designed SUV, every element is newly designed and built. It’s more evolutionary rather than revolutionary from each and every aspect of the big daddy SUV. The high-rise bonnet line and sharp cuts on the body appear aggressive, while the bolded fenders give it a muscular look. With the new generation, overall dimensions are increased and it is now 206mm longer, 97mm wider, and the wheelbase is increased by 70mm. Apart from these increments, the overall height of the SUV is shortened by 125mm.

The signature seven slats are fitted on the grille with a double-barrel headlight and lower-placed fog lamps covered with a C-type DRLs sideways. The front bumper part contains a silver finished diffuser and just above it, a registration plate will be installed.

The side has much-needed changes starting with a chrome window line garnish, blacked-out A and B pillars, functional roof rails, a footrest (for easy in and out), and a newly designed set of alloy wheels. The rear

The Scorpio-N is now more premium and upmarket from the inside in every corner. Now it’s plush leather upholstery, piano black inserts, soft-touch panels, a new upgraded touchscreen display, a sunroof, and a 6/7 seat option.

The Mahindra Scorpio 2022 gets two types of seating options, one is a sic seater option with captain seats in the second row. Whereas in the seven-seater option, the second row gets a bench folding seat, and it’s standard too. The 6-Seating option can only be taken in the Z8 Luxury variant, as it’s limited to it.

The features box contains dual-zone climate control, a completely-digital instrument cluster, front and rear camera, auto start-stop, cruise control, Type C-USB ports for the first as well as the second row of seats, wireless charging, keyless go, wireless android auto, apple car play, and 12-speakers 3D Sony sound system.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio N Variants Details

There are a total of five variants available in the Scorpio-N – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8, and Z8 Luxury. The petrol motor with manual transmission is available across the line, while the petrol automatic range starts with Z4 onwards.

There are two diesel engines offered with the new Scorpio, the small 132bhp, 2.2L motor is only available with the starting base Z2 and Z4 variants only with manual transmission and rear-wheel drive appearance only.

The powerful 175bhp engine is offered on the Z2, Z6, Z8, and Z8 Luxury with both manual and automatic transmission. While the four-wheel-drive powertrain is offered from Z4 onwards with a manual transmission, the automatic is limited to Z8 and Z8 Luxury trim.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio N Engine and Transmission

The Scorpio-N is powered by the same engines that the Thar and XUV700 have. A 2.2L, 4-Cylinder, Diesel and 2.0L, Turbocharged Petrol. The 2.2L, the engine is available in two states of tune, economical and powerful.

The petrol 2.0L, Turbocharged unit produces 203 bhp of power and 370Nm and 380Nm of peak torque for manual and automatic transmission respectively. Whereas, the 2.2L, 4-Cylinder lower spec diesel motor produces 132bhp and 300Nm of torque and in performance spec, it churns out 175bhp and 370Nm for the Manual Transmission and 400Nm for the Automatic Transmission. In the 175bhp engine, same as the Mahindra XUV700, it gets three modes – Zip, Zap, and Zoom (Considers as Eco, Normal, and Sport).

As a package of Mahindra’s 4XPLOR 4WD, it gets four terrain modes – Normal, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Rut, and Sand with a low range mode.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N Safety

With the new generation upgrade, the safety has improved drastically well. Now gets safety pack includes – 6 SRS Airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Brake Assist, Electronic Brake Distribution, Hill-Hold Control, Hill-Descent Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Driver Drowsiness Detection for the driver, and much more.
