The Honda CB150R follows the same Neo-Retro Cafe Racer design that Honda CB250R & CB1000R have.
Introduction to Honda CB150R
Being a naked street sports bike, the Honda CB150 does look great and is worth every penny. The overall design of the beast looks quite inspired or taken from the higher CB range products, especially CB250R. The bike has offered in four colour schemes and with a top of loaded tech features.
The expectations from this product are much high because it’s not a newbie in the market. The first version of the Honda CB150R was launched in 2012 named Honda CBR150. This is just a newly designed machine by taking the DNA of the earlier one.
However, it’s way better engineered and assembled but the testing on the Indian roads is still away from our hands because the bike is still not launched in the Indian market but there are certain chances that the launch of the Honda CB150R could happen on the second half of the year 2022. Till then read the details attached below.

Honda CB150R Launch Date in India
Honda Motors has started bringing updates to the existing products very quickly. This too indicates the arrival of new products. So with this, the Honda CB150R might be the next new product in the Honda’s CB lineup.
However, it is not confirmed by the officials but yet we can guess the Honda CB150R Launch Date in India would be the second half of 2022. After the launch, it’ll compete with Yamaha MT-125, the lesser displacement bike with at par power and torque figures.
The retro cafe racer DNA is quite unique and can be clearly seen from the handlebar to the pillion seat. It’s a kind of cafe racer and naked sports bike design moreover. The headlight is round and divided into portions and Honda branding is placed on the middle black part.
The headlight beam is a LED and spreads a good throw on the road. Whereas the fuel tank is upraised from the handlebars and sharply connected to the rider’s seat. The silver paint job on the fuel tank with Honda branding does look phenomenal and joint the radiator section where CB150R is written.
Apart from this, the frame is visible on the body and the black finished 150cc engine is well designed and throws the gases from the lower belly exhaust pipe.
The swingarm of CB 150R is stretched a bit to provide a good space for the mono-shock suspension and the pillion seat. This extension of the swingarm also proves more stable at high speeds and turns. The rear has tiny LED taillamps and the key hob for the seat is also placed there.
” Design is quite appreciable and refreshed, the frame is neatly designed”
Features and Offerings:
First and foremost, the fully digital instrument cluster is a cherry on the cake in this 150cc street motorcycle. It also has some great features like- Fuel Guage, Odometer, Speedometer, Trip A&B, Gear Shift Indicator, Clock, Engine temperature display, and fuel economy figures.
If we go towards the mechanical offerings then it has 41mm USD (Upside Down Front Shock Absorbers) in a golden finish, 296mm and 220mm disc plates with 4 piston calipers for the front, and hydraulic at the rear respectively. Whereas the ABS is limited for some variants.
The Yamaha MT 125 competitor weighs 125kgs and has a fuel carrying capacity of 8.5 liters. In one litre of petrol, the Honda CB150R gives a mileage/average of 45-50 Kmpl.

Performance and Transmission
The Honda CB150R is powered by a 149cc, Single Cylinder, DOHC, 4 Valve engine, the engine is liquid-cooled with a fuel injection system and comes paired with a six-speed gearbox. This motor has a bhp grunt of 16.1 @ 9,500 RPM and 13.6 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 RPM. While the CB150R top speed is limited to 128 km/h.
The motor has a decent low-end torque but the mid is the sweet spot for the motor, where it gives you thrills out on the highways. The USB front forks fulfill their duty adequately and the rider experience a smooth ride.
There is one flow in the motorcycle, the pillion seat is not that much comfortable as it could be. other bikes in the same price bracket offer more comfort.
The riding posture is a bit aggressive and the inner pivot diamond frame does help the bike in a leaning position. overall, the performance and ride quality is enough adequate.
“Good ride quality and performance from the motor”

Honda CB150R Colours
The CB150R is available in three colour options:
Competitor of 2021 Honda CB 150R
One of the toughest competitors of CB150R is the Yamaha MT 125. It’s a 124cc, Single Cylinder motorcycle that would churn out 14.7 bhp @ 10,000 RPM and 11.5 Nm torque at 8,000 RPM mated to a six-speed transmission.
In terms of performance, it can do 0-100 km/h in under 14 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 120 km/h which is 8 km/h less than the CB150R. The Yamaha MT 125 Price would also be near 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom). So the CBR150 has to compete with this after the launch in India.
Pros and Cons
- Comfortable Riding Posture
- Shorter Exhaust
- USB Front Forks
- Less Power in Low End
- ABS isn’t Standard
The Honda New Bike CB150R is a powerful streetfighter motorcycle with 16.1 bhp of power and 45-50 km/l of mileage. However, the low end is not that powerful but the mid-range is quite adequate and the power throw is continuing till 9,000 RPM.
So it’s a revving machine moreover. If you’re looking for a day-to-day commuter bike with decent power then you can definitely wait for it.
The Honda CB150R New Bike launch date in India is not confirmed yet but it is expected that the launch will take place in the second half of 2022. Apart from this, we can see some Cb150R’s in modified avatars by Emotion Micramoto.
The Honda Cb150R Exmotion MIcramoto is an upgraded version of a standard bike with more power and styling. This is one of the Honda upcoming bikes in India 2021.
