TVS Apache RTR 180 Introduction
The daily commuter sportbike segment had taken place in the Indian market by two bikes, one is the TVS Apache RTR 150 and the second one is none other than Bajaj Pulsar 150. Firstly the Apace was introduced with a 150 cc engine a started becoming popular among the new enthusiastic generation. Then in the year 2008, TVS had launched with the RTR racing DNA and an additional 30 cc of displacement, and the new product was named ‘TVS Apache RTR 180’. This new avatar of Apache was sold in thousand of numbers and became the best-selling product of TVS’s lineup. Year after year TVS has given it updates like- ABS version in 2012, an RTR 160cc version, and a new generation in 2012. From the year 2012 and till, the design is almost the same with some graphics alterations and TVS and yet no plans to change it so far because it comes equipped with a great combination of specs.

First and foremost, it starts with an aerodynamics design and the front has a big halogen headlight unit with eyebrow style LED DRLs and a black wind visor. The fuel tank is upraised with the low sitting of the rider in the split seat. The fuel tank extensions are decorated with big RTR decal stickers. The pillion seat is upraised with well cushioning for a comfortable ride and has a grab handle at the rear and just below, the LED tail light is placed with a mudguard. The RTR 180 model comes with 22 inches blacked-out alloy wheels with tubeless tyres and dual disc brakes, where the front has a single-channel ABS.
The Bike comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster, where the left side has a digital speedometer and the right has an analog tachometer. The digital unit shows information about- fuel tank, clock, trip A&B, ODO meter, 0-60 kmph speed run recorder etc.

The power delivery is quite good in the mid-range but the top range feels missing out on power, while the low end has a decent through of power. The sweetest sport for power delivery is 2200-2500 RPM. between this range, the engine performs undoubtedly well. The integration of the racing frame from the RTR series sharply improved the acceleration and delivers optimum efficiency.
Apart from this, the 177cc beast can deliver a mileage of 40-45 kmpl in city and highway however, the avg is dependent on the gear, tyres, speed, commuter capacity, and road.

No doubt the TVS Apache RTR 180 is a well-tested and trusted product and you can go with this anytime. It has a well-powered engine with optimum specifications and features, In fact, the fuel efficiency is quite impressive as well (40-45kmpl). The low and mid-end of the engine are quite powerful but the high lacks. but when we were riding this in city traffic then we don’t felt it a demerit, as we were barely hit the 70 kmph mark.
